Don’t worry about Libya, or any other global uprisings, Afghanistan or Iraq, bring the troops home to fight the “Fork Wars”.

During Princess Nancy Pelosi’s reign …. she deemed the plastic congressional cafeteria cutlery a “danger to society” and had it banned. In its’ place, earth friendly, benevolent, made from fresh cow turds, and approximately $475K (annual) cutlery that often melted in hot soup and generally sucked (Pelosi doesn’t look like she eats much anyway, unless you count small children and republicans).

When I first heard “congress”, “outrage”, “letter to Speaker Boehner” and “plastic knives and forks”, I thought the Dems were ‘upset’ that the cutlery could be used to commit violent acts (who would have thought …considering how pissed off everybody is with the government in general… you know, that unemployment thing)….but actually, that would have made ‘some’ sense.

In that case, I should have figured I’d be wrong.

“This decision really embodies the new G.O.P. majority,” said Drew Hammill, a spokesman for Ms. Pelosi of California, the former speaker. “More trash-talk and policies that take us backwards.”

Mr. Hamill, I wish you and your friends would go ‘backwards’ on your butts ON the new hard plastic, environmentally ‘unfriendly’ forks! Oops, sorry…’violent rhetoric’ which will surely incite a ‘fork attack’….

Never fear, I am most happy to report there are indeed new initiatives to
“green” the cafeterias.

“At the Rayburn House Office Building, the cafeterias will soon begin to use reusable dinnerware, and the House will seek to have all of its solid waste sent to incinerator plants that create energy, rather than to landfills.”

I am so relieved.
